Vol. 3 Issue 3 Nov/Dec 09
Safety Day at PCK-8 The week of October 5-11 was Child Health Week in Tennessee. The Governor’s Office of Children’s Care Coordination worked with Coordinated School Health and other government offices to highlight ways that children and families can stay healthy and active. The Pickett County Health Council helped by presenting “Safety Day” at Pickett County K-8. Many local health care providers were at the school to help students learn about ways the community helps to keep them healthy. We wish to thank all those that were involved in making the day possible. The students had fun while participating in many activities and learning about the many services the community provides.
Children’s Health Week at PCHS
Art students at PCHS participated in Children’s Health Week by creating posters for the TENNder Care Program. TENNder Care sponsored the contest to create a design for their flyers to be used in public school throughout the state in 2010. Students in Ms. Janet Alley’s art class worked in groups to create a poster to help promote yearly health physicals. A favorite poster was chosen and each person involved in creating that poster received a $10 gift card from Coordinated School Health. Five posters were chosen to enter the statewide contest. The winning poster was created by Tara Garner, Misty York, and Cody Littrell.
